Joe Whitworth has shone between the City sticks as of late, with the Grecians picking up 13 points from a possible 15 in the last five games.
In a period that has seen plenty of success make it's way to Devon's capital, Crystal Palace loanee Joe Whitworth looks fondly upon a run of results that has seen the Grecians climb the Sky Bet League One table.
"We had some really tough games and came out the other side with some really good results so reflecting on that has been good, but the manager is really good at keeping us grounded as we don't want any complacency."
"For us as a group it's all about our mentality to focus on each game as it comes, and hopefully each time we can put in good performances to win the games."
City come into this one on the back of a 3-1 win against Port Vale away from home, a game that saw the Grecians overcome some early pressure from the hosts but ultimately score three goals of quality to secure the three points in Stoke.
"I think it took us maybe 10 minutes to get into the game, Port Vale had a few chances which came from us not settling in right."
"I had to make the save early doors which was good, and then after that we then reacted -pretty well and started playing our normal selves."
Tuesday's opponents, Reading, had to settle for a draw on their visit to St James Park earlier on in the season. Whitworth looks to go one better this time around and secure all three points at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
"Watching [the reverse fixture] back today, they had a few chances that we can hopefully nullify early doors, but I felt like we played some good stuff especially in the second half."
"It was a good point at the time, and hopefully now we're in a good bulk of form and playing some really good attacking stuff so hopefully we can go there on the front foot, be aggressive like we have been in every other game that we've had recently, and go and win the game."
