Joe Whitworth shares his thoughts before the team travel to the Lamex Stadium on Saturday to face Stevenage, with the Grecians looking for a fourth win of the season.

Whitworth speaks for the first time since re-signing for the club in the summer, having featured in all eight of the Grecian’s league games and looking to right any wrongs ahead of the forthcoming games.

“There were a few conversations that we had as a team and how we can move forward. We’ve had some really good results, and some results where we feel we could have performed better on the day.”

“We are looking to put a line in the sand and push forward with more consistent performances which will bring us better results. We’re working hard on the pitch, and the manager is putting demands on us to be better.”

“Stevenage are a very strong side; they have a really solid way of playing. They do well with their organisation, and with the players they have available they’re very strong.”

“We’re looking forward to Saturday to hopefully put things right from last weekend.”

Joe reiterates the importance of a good relationship between himself and the other goalkeepers at the club after fellow goalkeeper, Jack Bycroft featured in goal for City on Tuesday’s Virtu Trophy defeat to Cardiff City.

“It’s really important as a group to have a good relationship. Kev, Jack, Frankie and I are working really hard and improving each other, which will help us throughout the season.”
