Kevin McDonald has given his first interview as he returns to Devon for a third time, signing a one-year contract.
Having seen his deal at the club expire at the end of 2024/25, Gary Caldwell has opted to retain the services of the 36-year old Scot ahead of the new Sky Bet League One season and make the most of his years of experience at a higher level.

“It’s good to be back – it was always in the pipeline over the summer but I am delighted to eventually get it sorted,” Kevin said.
“It was obviously a tough season but there were lots of positives to take and we have lots we can build on, so I’ll do what I can to make it a positive season that’s for sure.”
While signing primarily as a player, McDonald will also offer a different view of things for Gary Caldwell and his coaching staff, working on a daily basis with the rest of the group as a mentor. Though, McDonald feels that comes naturally to him after many years in the game.
“I’m going to just keep doing what I’ve done previously here. I have shown at this club when I have played that the results are there, and the team have performed. I will do what I do, but on the day to day basis I will help out in numerous ways. There’s a reason I have been brought to this club again and I want to repay the club, the fans, and the players that are here now.
“I have a huge belief in myself and whenever the manager wants to put me in, from the bench or from the start, whatever may be, I am here to support the team in whatever way possible.”
