Matt Taylor on City's draw with Tranmere Rovers (H)

Matt Taylor post Tranmere Rovers

Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has shared his thoughts after the Grecians were held to a goalless draw with Tranmere Rovers at SJP.

On City's 125th anniversary, City were unable to beat Harrison Male in the Tranmere goal. Speaking after the match, Matt said: "We were very honest in the first half. I think they showed their threat on a couple of occasions where they created chances from our give away, or turnover moments, and all of a sudden they were breaking into our back line. And once we smoothed it out at half time I thought in the second half, we controlled the game.

"The second half we felt like we were built pressure and we were banging down the door without actually breaking it down or a goal coming our way.

"It was a very honest performance but we are still lacking in certain areas. But like I said, for the first time, from 15 minutes into that second half, we had a period of sustained pressure, not dominance by any means."
