Matt Taylor pre Port Vale

Exeter City manager Matt Taylor is looking to take the positives from City's three games in eight days, as the Grecians head to Vale Park to take on Port Vale on Saturday.

After three home games with two draws and a win, City head back on the road to Vale Park to take on a Vale side that have found life tricky back in League Two.

On Tuesday night City beat Spurs U21 2-0 in the EFL Trophy thanks to goals from Danny Rose and Louie Cayless, reflecting on the win Matt said: "Nothing is more important than winning. But great minutes in the bank for those who needed it. There's a whole group now which are closer to the reckoning of the first team and better prepared than they were before that game."

"I think there's a few teams where we expect them to be a different place in five games time alone, 15 games time and Port Vale certainly in that capacity, that bracket.

"We've done our work, as we always do in relation to the opposition, and the depth and the service they've got is there for all to see, so I'm sure they'll get it right. We hope it's not this weekend and we can go there and be competitive and it will be a really good game of football.

"It's all about results. We want to add more points and more positive results to our start, and we're looking to do that this weekend."
