Matt Taylor pre York City (A)

Matt Taylor pre York away

Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has given his preview ahead of City's trip to face York City in League Two.

The Grecians make their first trip to the LNER Community Stadium, and it's the first meeting of the two sides for a decade on Saturday. City make the trip on the back of their first three points of the season with a 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Saturday and will be full of confidence ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

Speaking in his weekly pre-match press conference, Matt said: "I've got to try and keep the team as level as I possibly can. So, you know, as much as we enjoyed the winning moments in football, which is so, so important, we stay level. We understand when it doesn't quite go our way and we get beat, and then we understand what goes into a winning performance, which puts the extra spring in your step in terms of training, which we've seen this week, and has helped some of the younger ones in terms of where their bodies and minds are at, but we are under no illusions what we're going to be up against this weekend.

On facing York City on Saturday, Matt added: "Similar to Grimsby, they are a team we expect to be in the mix at the top end of the the League and they've played two promotion candidates already and fared really well.

"They are possession based, I think they've got most of my possession in the Football League so far this season. They have a good crowd supporting them, and on the back of their promotion, they've got a clear bump and growth on the back of that. It's a good place to play football."
