Matt Taylor previews the Devon Derby (A)

Matt Taylor pre Plymouth Argyle

Exeter City Interim Manager Matt Taylor has given his thoughts ahead of the Devon Derby at Home Park on Saturday afternoon.

City head into the match on the back of the confidence-boosting 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers on Bank Holiday Monday that put the end to a long winless sequence. Our hosts Plymouth Argyle have been in fine form recently and find themselves just outside the play-off places, so there is a lot riding on this one for both teams.

Speaking ahead of the match, Matt said: "It's a massive game of football and we are preparing as best as we possibly can, ready for what comes on Saturday.

"We are under no illusions what the game stands for, not only in terms of league standing for both teams but also the south west and the Devon Derby is a special fixture."

"It's the game you want to be involved in. I've said to the players how lucky and privileged we are to be involved in a fixture like this, so well attended and our away support will go with such excitement and in good voice and will support us through thick and thin and we have to repay them with a performance and hopefully we are celebrating with them on the pitch post-game. It will take a lot of hard work and we are playing a good team who are in form.

"It's a game from my point of view as manager that you don't want to overthink. This group of players have to be really clear on what is going to give us success on the weekend."
