Exeter City interim manager Matt Taylor has given his reaction as the Grecians were narrowly beaten at Barnsley in EFL Sky Bet League One.
A ten minute spell in the first half did the damage as David McGoldrick and Vimal Yoganathan gave the Tykes a 2-0 defeat. Jayden Wareham netted with 15 minutes to go, but City were unable to find a leveller.
Speaking after the game Matt said: "We've paid the price for a tired defensive start to the game. We have to be honest in relation to that.
"We didn't deal well with two long balls into the box and we took our own bodies out of the game and they capitalised. Two-nil down after a quarter of an hour was a big mountain to climb and we clawed our way back into the game as time went on.
"We wrestled back some control with a change of shape in the first half and as the second half went on we grew and grew and got the goal and for a save and a few near-missed we could have had a point."
