Club captain, Pierce Sweeney, shares his thoughts ahead of this weekend’s home game against Huddersfield Town.
Exeter City look to secure their fourth league win of the season at home to Huddersfield Town, after a string of impressive performances inspiring confidence within the squad.
“They’ve invested heavily and brought in a new manager as well as new backroom staff. They’ve brought in expected goals with new signings Alfie May and Joe Taylor, so I think it says something when even Dion Charles can’t get into the squad.”
“I think they probably aren’t where they expected themselves to be.” The Terriers currently sit fifth in Sky Bet League One following last weekend’s nil-nil draw to Burton Albion.
“They’re going to come full of energy and put pressure on our back line early, and I think we need to deal with that at the start of the game.”
“We need to show them that they’re not going to come here and get anything.”
