Roles

Having once again been awarded gold standard in the EFL Family Excellence awards for the fifth year running and recognised for our ‘friendly atmosphere and outstanding customer service’ it is important we continue to build on this achievement.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable and professional individuals to join our matchday volunteers team. Roles are available in a variety of areas, including:

 

Ambassador (SJP)

As a Matchday Ambassador, you will:

  • Be a positive Ambassador for the Club, ensuring every attendee feels valued.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while providing information and support.
  • Act as a key contact point for fans in public areas, VIP spaces, and hospitality settings.
  • Help manage and enhance the entire matchday experience with a positive attitude.

 

Junior Grecian Support Volunteer (SJP)

  • Help create a safe and enjoyable environment for our young supporters on a matchday.
  • Assist in pre-match activations aimed at families
  • Occasionally help with on pitch activities including our half time shootouts
  • Promote Exeter City to our younger supporters and make sure they receive a warm welcome to St Jame Park
  • Take note of all the valuable fan comments, suggestions and complaints and feedback to the Supporter Liaison Officer in order to improve the fan experience.

Programme & Passport Stand Volunteer (Women’s Matches @ Coach Road)

  • Sell matchday programmes and stamp supporter passports before kick-off.
  • Provide a friendly welcome to fans and answer any questions about the day.
  • Keen to support a growing women’s football club with strong community roots

 

Fan Zone Activations Lead (Women’s Matches @ Coach Road)

  • Oversee fun, family-friendly activities such as drawing stations, face painting & photo booths.
  • Encourage participation, help set up and tidy away and create a welcoming space for young supporters.
  • Keen to support a growing women’s football club with strong community roots

 

Key Responsibilities for all matchday roles include:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to fans and guests.
  • Follow operational procedures to ensure matchday runs smoothly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a positive and efficient team environment.
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism throughout the matchday.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • A friendly, outgoing attitude and a passion for customer service.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in event roles is desirable but not essential.

By becoming part of the team, you will help us create our matchday magic and be part of an exciting matchday atmosphere.  These roles offer the opportunity to give back to your community and make a positive impact but also develop valuable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem-solving.

​Some of our Matchday Staff roles will require a DBS Check (the level of this check will be dependant on the role) and must be able to prove their eligibility to work within the UK and provide references.  These checks must be completed prior to commencement of work.
