Defender Louie Cayless signed his first professional contract with Exeter City in the 2025/26 season.
Louie joined the Academy as an Under-9 and quickly rose through the ranks before making his first-team debut in the 2024/25 EFL Trophy campaign aged just 15 to become the second youngest first-team player in City history. More experience came in the form of the Premier League Cup, the FA Youth Cup, and the Devon St Luke's Bowl.
A loan move to Plymouth Parkway in the opening part of the 2025/26 season came before Louie signed his first professional contract with City in December 2025 in a deal that will keep him at St James Park until the end of the 2027/28 season. Louie became the third youngest recorded goalscorer for the club at the start of the 2026/27 campaign after netting against Tottenham Hotspur Under-21 in the EFL Trophy.
