Midfielder George Birch signed his first professional contract with Exeter City ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Originally from Somerset and having featured for the Yeovil Town academy, George joined the City academy as an Under-14 and quickly rose through the ranks. George earned a scholarship ahead of the 2023/24 season and became a prominent figure in the Under-18 squad for the next two seasons, until he signed his first professional deal with the club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign when we would make his first-team debut.
George earned valuable senior football experience with a loan move to Weston-super-Mare in the first part of the 2025/26 season, though he was recalled ahead of the Grecian's FA Cup tie against Manchester City. The midfielder scored his first senior goal at the Etihad Stadium, before his contract was extended until the end of the 2026/27 season.
George has been sponsored by Harry Walsh & Ileana Orozco Bermúdez for the 2026/27 season. For more commercial opportunities, contact commercial@ecfc.co.uk.
