Defender Lakyle Samuel joined Exeter City on loan ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Having joined the Manchester City academy aged eight, Lakyle signed his scholarship at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2022/23 season. After helping to retain the Under-18s Premier League title that season, further experience was gained in the City EDS squad for the following two seasons before a season-long loan move to 2025/26 EFL League Two champions, Bromley.

Lakyle has also featured for England Under-17s and Under-18s before his most recent call up to the international team in September 2025 where he made his first cap for the Under-20s. The 20-year-old signed for Exeter City on deadline day ahead of the 2026/27 season on a season long loan.
