Lakyle Samuel joined City on a season-long loan from Premier League side Manchester City in August 2026.

The 20-year-old defender joins the Grecians ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, adding further competition and depth to Matt Taylor’s squad.

Predominantly a right wing-back, Samuel is also capable of playing in central defence and brings versatility, athleticism and technical quality to the City squad. He has also represented England at Under-20 level.
