Adobe Women's FA Cup action returns to Coach Road on Sunday as City host Chatham Town in the second round.
Following a 6-0 win away to Torquay United in the first round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup, City will now face Chatham Town in the second round of the tournament this Sunday as the Kent team make the journey to Coach Road. With the Chatham Town clubhouse chosen as the location to broadcast the live cup draw, reactions from Keith Boanas and his players were immediately provided once the four-hour journey was confirmed, an overriding sense of excitement for the Division One South-East team to travel further afield and venture into the South-West.
Currently occupying fifth place in the Division One South-East, the Chats come into this game off the back of a 3-2 loss to second-place Norwich City. Under no illusions, Abbie Britton has openly stated that complacency from her side will not be an option, looking to avoid any potential banana skins that the FA Cup is known to provide for fixtures such as these. "We know that just because they're a league below us, it doesn't really count for anything as this is the FA Cup and they have a very experienced manager who will have them set up really well."
With the men's home fixture against Burton Albion now postponed due to necessary repair work at St James Park following the fire, the team will look to lean on a bustling crowd at Coach Road with as many new faces as possible, so be sure to get your tickets to this game while you still can below.
