Jack Fitzwater has shared his thoughts ahead of City's trip to The Shay Stadium to face Halifax Town in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
A week that has seen City beat Plymouth Argyle in a memorable 2-0 victory before following that up with a 4-3 win in the Vertu Trophy, Fitzwater emphasise the importance of momentum and confidence.
"We want to take these last two wins into Saturday and hopefully get a third. Winning breeds confidence, and this is the first time we've got back-to-back wins this season."
The Grecians will be looking to secure a third consecutive win on Saturday, in a trip to The Shay Stadium to face Halifax Town in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.
"We know it's going to be a totally different game; playing in the FA Cup away from home. We're going to be playing a lesser opposition, who will be hoping to get one over on us, however we don't want to be the team who aren't in the second round."
"I think they'll be tough. They're the team at home, and they have nothing really to lose."
City will look to re-create the memorable run that was seen last season, before bowing out on penalties to Nottingham Forest at SJP in the fourth round.
"We want to have more nights like that. More nights like the Plymouth game, like the Nottingham Forest game, and like the Luton Town game. We want nights that stay with you and make you want to play in these types of games."
