Jack Fitzwater previews Emirates FA Cup trip to Man City

Jack Fitzwater pre Manchester City

Exeter City defender Jack Fitzwater has said the team will be heading to Manchester on Saturday full of confidence after a strong festive period.

The Grecians make the trip to face Pep Guardiola's Man City in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, in front of 7,800 travelling Grecians on Saturday - an occasion the team are really looking forward to.

"We are really excited for it," said Jack ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

"Now the week has come where we can properly prepare and look forward to it. We've had a really busy festive period and we've come out of it with good points on the board and we go to Manchester full of confidence and can enjoy the occasion."

"It's the Emirates FA Cup which is my favourite competition. Everyone knows the history of it and the upsets. We are going to go there to try and win, we are not going to turn up and see what happens. We will go with a game plan as we always do and will go there and give a good account of ourselves.

"At the end of the day, as Reece [Cole] said it is just 11v11 and we have to treat it as that and we can't wait for it now."

Jack thanked the fans for their incredible support over the festive period and to the 7,800 City fans making the trip to the Etihad Stadium.

"It's amazing. They have been there home and away in their numbers. The financials and hours they have to sacrifice doesn't go un-noticed and it gives us that extra five percent on the day.

"We can rely on them to give us that little bit extra when we need them during the game and we are going to need them on Saturday to help us get through it.

"It's going to be amazing to see them all on Saturday."
