Ever wanted to get behind the mic and commentate on live football? Now's your chance!
At Exeter City, we offer an audio descriptive commentary service called Soccer Sight, for partially sighted and blind supporters to use at St James Park. This service ensures that no Grecian misses a moment of the action inside our stadium.
Soccer Sight has been running for well over a decade thanks to an army of volunteer commentators, and this season thanks to funding from the Premier League's fans' fund, we upgraded the equipment to make for an even better experience for all supporters.
You can find out more about the service by clicking here!

In preparation for the 2025/26 campaign, we are looking to recruit commentators to the group of volunteers currently describing matches at SJP.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in football media, with previous volunteers going on to work for national broadcasters such as Sky Sports, commentate for BBC Radio Devon and write for Devon Live, or even join the club’s media team!
Who we're looking for:
- Confident individuals who are keen to learn! You don't need to be the finished article, but comfortable and confident to learn behind a mic.
- Committed volunteers who can be avaliable for the majority of home games during the 2025/26 season, however you don't have to be a City fan to apply!
- Available for evening training sessions on either Wednesday, 9 July or Thursday, 10 July
- Aged 16 or over
How to apply:
Please email charlie.howell@ecfc.co.uk by Friday 27 June with the following:
- Your full name and age
- 250 words about yourself and why you're interested
- A short sample of commentary on the following clip - don't worry, it's not about being perfect, it's just to give us a feel for your style and potential
Please note, this is a voluntary role, successful applicants will not become employees of Exeter City. All volunteers must be over the age of 16.
