Celebrating our incredible volunteers

Celebrating our Volunteers

Volunteers’ Week is an UK-wide campaign held annually from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers. And we are no exception at Exeter City.

We are extremely grateful to all our volunteers from the Monday Maintenance to the inspirational waste and recycling teams and of course our notorious meet and greet matchday ambassadors to the Junior Grecian helpers, Museum helpers and renowned tour guides. Not to forget the officers at the various supporters’ clubs and Grecian Groups who organise engagement, events and fund-raising. Your efforts constitute an annual financial contribution of around £250k.

If you have spotted an opportunity to volunteer, would like to join an existing programme to bolster our reach and contribution please email: customerservices@exetercityfc.co.uk. We would be delighted to hear from you.

You might not have the patience to supervise in the Junior Grecian Family Zone and would find other opportunities such as collecting “recycle cups” for donations to the charities in the City Foundation more appealing.

Volunteering is an ideal way to use your existing skills and experience or learn and new skill to enhance your CV, or perhaps just an opportunity to join like minded people while making an invaluable contribution to your club. Please note that some opportunities will require the Club to seek a current DBS check.

Some volunteering activities to look out for include:

  • June 26: Fixture Release Day 'Volunteers Thank You Evening' meal with Gary and some player
  • July 20: Work Parties return! Join us for a weekend of activity to help us get  SJP ready for the new season. From seat cleaning to general tidying of the Park to painting of the Big Bank Heart etc.
  • Volunteer recruitment evening.

For the “thank you evening” with Gary Caldwell, please let us know if you started volunteering last season and have not been invited to previous thank you events by emailing: customerservices@exetercityfc.co.uk. We don’t want anyone to miss out. The evening in the Heritage Suite is by invitation only.

Please watch website and social media for further information on the Work Parties and Recruitment Day.

Launched in 1984, the national Volunteer Week initiative has been running for over 40 years, providing organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts.

The campaign helps highlight the diversity and unity of volunteer contribution across the UK. In its 40th year, the campaign underwent a rebrand, introducing a vibrant identity to inspire continued engagement.

Volunteers’ Week fosters connections between national organisations and grassroots groups, celebrating the spirit of volunteering that enriches communities each year.

This year’s national celebration runs from Monday, June 2 to Sunday, June 8.
