Exeter City manager Matt Taylor was proud of his side that saw their advantage snatched away late on by top-of-the-league Salford City.

A first half that saw Sonny Cox net his second goal of the season, Matt was delighted with his team’s efforts: “We were excellent. We were absolutely excellent. One goal up, deservedly so, at halftime and could have been further ahead. We could have extended our lead in the second half but yeah, we’re disappointed with the two goals, despite the second one being a good strike.”

Sonny Cox opened scoring with his second goal of the season, with Matt pleased for the young attacker: “For him to back up his goal against Shrewsbury and his hat trick for the Under-21s with another goal today, he's going in the right direction.”

Matt now looks ahead to a Premier League Cup encounter with Reading Under-21s before a trip to Huddersfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup: “We want to be right on Monday night in that game. We want to be right every single day when we train. Got to be right in the Cup game next weekend against an outstanding team in Huddersfield.”
