The long awaited return of live women's football in Exeter is finally here, as the Grecians host Billericay Town at SJP on Sunday.
After 49 days with no competitive action, Abbie Britton's Exeter City Women's side made the trip to the South-East to face Lewes in the FA WNL Southern Premier. With the scores tied a 1-1, the game was ultimately abandoned late on after City captain Bow Jackson required medical attention off the of the pitch.
As we await the final decision regarding the result last weekend, good news came on Monday when it was announced Bow had been discharged from hospital. Everybody at Exeter City Football Club wishes a speedy recovery for the women's skipper!
This week's opponents, Billericay Town, will journey to the South-West with very little to lose. The Essex club are currently sat bottom of the FA WNL Southern Premier, only netting four times this season and still waiting to secure a point in the league. Financial problems behind the scenes at Billericay have resulted in a disruptive 18 months for the club, with a heavy turnover of players resulting in heavy disruption within the changing rooms.
As City look to continue an unbeaten run in 2026, be sure to get your tickets ahead of time and save money. More information regarding tickets can be seen below.
