We are delighted to announce the loan signing of exciting young midfielder Dan Watts from Swansea City on a season-long loan, subject to EFL approval.
The paperwork was competed ahead of the transfer deadline, and Dan will link up with Matt Taylor's side at the end of September after he finishes his rehab with Swansea.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been with Swansea since he was eight and has progressed up through the ranks. He signed his first professional contract in July 202. Dan has captained their under-21 side and has featured heavily in their Premier League Cup campaign. He also featured against City in a behind-closed-doors friendly in pre-season.
Dan has represented Wales from U16 to U21 level and featured for the U21s in their friendly against Andorra in March 2025.
Speaking about bringing Dan to Exeter, manager Matt Taylor said: “Dan joins us with great pedigree having captained Swansea U21s and having international experience with Wales up until U21 level.
“He is currently injured and unavailable and undertaking his rehab with Swansea so won’t join us for the next 6-8 weeks. We are looking forward to what he can add to the midfield group and provide competition for places. We are delighted that Swansea have trusted us with the next stage of his development – he is a player they have high hopes for, and we are looking forward to the impact he has with the squad.”
