Exeter City Women are delighted to announce the signing of Saskia Heard, subject to FA registration.
Commanding central defender Saskia joins the Grecians from Arsenal's academy, where she played for four seasons. She will become Abbie Britton's first signing of the summer transfer window, when the FA's registration period opens on July 1.
Saskia played against the Grecians last season while on loan at Hashtag United, and she helped the Tags to secure their tier three status before swapping the South East for the South West and joining City this summer.
On the move, Saskia said: "I'm really excited to get started, I want to play and develop as much as I can with the people around me and the team we have here. I'm really excited to play in this physical environment.
"I know how community-based Exeter City is so I want to get to know the fans, and everyone who's going to surround me at this club.
"I'm very physical, I'm ruthless in my tackling, but when I'm on the ball I'm calm and composed, and I like to encourage my teammates from the back."
Speaking about her first signing of the summer, Abbie Britton said: "I’m delighted at the signing of Saskia, someone with so much talent and potential.
"She’s the kind of player we are looking to bring in, young, hungry, ambitious and ticks the boxes when it comes to playing our style, wanting to pass the ball and breaks lines of play from the back.
"When we met Saskia and her family it was really clear she was someone that fits the clubs profile and I’m over the moon she’s chosen to sign for us."
Saskia will join up with his new teammates for pre-season preparations, with the Grecians returning to training on June 23, and her shirt number will be confirmed ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
