Exeter City can confirm that Ryan Woods' contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
The midfielder initially joined City in February 2024 on loan from Hull City, and he went on to establish himself in the centre of midfield in the second half of that campaign. Ryan signed permanently for City last summer and appeared 41 times last season, scoring twice, while also captaining the team on a handful of occasions.
Both goals came in spectacular fashion - the first was a fantastic strike to see off Cambridge 1-0 before he netted directly from a corner to set up a grandstand finish in the 4-4 draw against Crawley Town.

Manager Gary Caldwell said: "Ryan has been a pleasure to work with - a calm, experienced figure who played a key role in bringing the group together after a challenging period in January 2024. His technical quality and composure in possession gave us real control in games and were vital in helping the team finish the 2023/24 season strongly.
"Being away from his wife and two young daughters last season has proved to be more difficult, and we fully respect his decision to move closer to home. Ryan leaves with our thanks and our very best wishes. He’s made a big impact during his time here and will be missed both on and off the pitch.”
In total, Ryan made 55 appearances and scored twice during his 18 months in red and white.
All the best for your next challenge, Ryan!
