Fresh from signing a two-year deal with City, our latest forward Jayden Wareham shared his thoughts on joining the Grecians.
After turning down a contract at Reading, the 22-year-old striker has penned a two-year contract with an option for a third, and he's now excited to get to work at the Cliff Hill as we build towards the 2025/26 season.
"I'm absolutely buzzing," Jayden told us, "It's been a long process but after I heard the manager wanted me, and I had a call with him a few weeks ago, he was really positive about his ambitions and goals this year and I'm really excited to be a part of that.
"Gary got hold of my agent and spoke to him about the opportunity for me if I come, what his plans were for the squad and me and it was really nice and positive.
"I'm a young, hungry striker, I've only just turned 22. When you're my age and you're a young striker you want to be playing games and that's what I hope to get here and I've been told that it's going to be really positive for me and I'm excited to get going."

Before making the move down, Jayden asked former City loanee Joe Whitworth for references about the club, and that only backed his decision to move down to Devon.
"Football's such a small world and I've come up against Joe quite a few times," Jayden explained, "And he's a sound lad.
"He did really well here last season, and I just wanted to ask him a few things about the club, the area, and he said nothing but positive things, so that sold me it as well."
