😊 Matchday Family Fun: Fleetwood Town

There is something for everyone at SJP

19 February 2024

It’s not just about the 90 minutes of football at SJP. This resonates itself in so many ways.

Building on your annual Football vs Homophobia match against Derby in our last home match, The English Football League (EFL) and Official Match Ball partners, PUMA launched the very first Rainbow match ball which will be for the used across Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two matches for the last time today.

By kick off you will have learnt how the Club has got on following its nomination for an award at the annual Football vs Homophobia ceremony staged at the National Football Museum, Manchester on Friday. The Club were represented by your coordinator Alan Quick and media officer Craig Bratt. To be nominated is fabulous but hope their work will be rewarded.

Unite for Access

Against Fleetwood we will be asking you to help us mark Level Playing Fields Weeks of Action.  Their 'Unite For Access' campaign is an annual period of inspiration and celebration of good access and inclusion at sports venues.

The first EFL Mystery Family audit earlier this season acknowledged their family feeling that when they visited they had not seen such a high proportion of wheelchairs in a football stadium. At the Derby match the new accessibility toilet in the Away End was launched.  And we remain one of the few clubs to have a dedicated changing places facility.

The theme of our week action coordinated by your Disabled Supporters Association in conjunction with Age Concern will be Dementia. Focusing that it doesn’t just affect the person with the diagnosis, everyone around them is also affected.

Your DSA is just one of over 40 affiliated groups by age or location. You now have the opportunity to officially affiliate with the club by being part of established group or become a new supporters’ group, you can find out more information by email to:

At your SJP, we want you to spend an enjoyable match day with us. And for supporters  who love a variety of great food and drink alongside fun and games, your Fan Zone is the ideal pre-match venue. Free stadium tours, Junior Grecian Zone, bars (with TVs) and local farm food. If you are in the Optimising IT Adam Stansfield stand the Strikers Bar and kiosk are available from 1pm.

Apart from the football our additional attraction for you this Saturday is Lez the Fez with his roving magic and balloon modelling. Definitely something not to miss if he is around your area!

By road or rail, when you get here we hope you will enjoy your match!

Keep an eye out for Grecian and Lexi!

No trip to SJP would be complete without a picture with our mascots Grecian and Lexi the Lion. Keep an eye out around the Park for the mischievous pair! You'll find them in the Junior Grecians Zone before the match and inside the stadium from 2:15pm!

Grecian Lexi.jpg

Lez the Fez

Back by popular demand and definitely something not to miss if he is around your area! You might even get a souvenir to take away! His schedule is from 1:15pm to 2:45pm:

1.15pm Starting in the Family Room; strolling through Your Fan Zone; then into Hospitality; before entering the stadium family areas - Nevada Construction Stand Block E and the Big Bank. Our apologies if Lez does not get to your area as he is often delayed by mystified groups.

What’s On?
If it is your first visit to SJP please email or let an Ambassador know and we will endeavour to make it memorable for you.
Special Occasion?
As well as letting us know if it is your first visit please let us know if you are celebrating a special occasion. We will try and make it special for you and/or arrange a half-time birthday message. Email:

Getting to SJP

Getting to SJP on match days (EX4 6PX – visiting fans EX4 6PU) cannot be easier for you.

Despite being in the heart of Exeter’s bustling city centre, getting to SJP on match days couldn’t be easier!

BUS: Local Stagecoach buses drop off on several streets all around the Stadium (York Road, Pennsylvania Road, Prince Charles Road, Union Road, Sidwell Street, Old Tiverton Road, Pinhoe Road).

All of Exeter’s Park & Ride services drop off in the City Centre, which is a short walk away from the stadium gates.

A maximum £2 fare is still in place for all local Stagecoach services. If you use Park & Ride you can alternatively purchase a £10 return ticket for a party of 5.

Exeter Coach Station is also less than half a mile walk away, offering both regional and nationwide services.

TRAIN: St James Park boasts the only operating matchday station in the whole of the EFL! The station shares a name with our ground, sits on the London Waterloo line out of the City & has regular services running from Exeter St. Davids, Exeter Central, Exmouth & Paignton.

Recent timetable changes mean that trains from Okehampton and Barnstaple usually extend to the station on your matchday. Passengers from London Waterloo should change at either Pinhoe or Exeter Central for services to St James Park. Passengers from London Paddington, Cornwall and from further north should change at Exeter St. Davids. A return fare from Exeter St. Davids costs £2.60 but is free if travelling from further afield and selected at the time of booking (ie. set St James Park (Exeter) as your destination).

CYCLING: There are a handful of racks available at the stadium, with extra capacity on nearby Sidwell Street should these areas be full. Exeter’s cycling network is continually improving and many of the surrounding streets have dedicated cycling infrastructure.

Sat Nav locations

  • Home fans: EX4 6PX
  • Visiting fans: EX4 6PU

There is extremely limited parking at our stadium, with several city-centre car parks within fairly close range. There is also very limited on-street parking for considerate drivers. Wherever possible, we recommend the use of public transport, Park & Ride services, or active transport (walking & cycling) to reach St James Park on matchday.

Announcements will include away travel update, Women’s football with a Grecian and Cod Army supporter announcing their respective teams around 2pm.

Three helpful tips for you on your first visit:

  2. Make sure youngsters have an emergency contact number in case they get split up from you;
  3. And always check the weather before your journey so that you have appropriate clothing.
