Kevin Nicholson looks ahead to Saturday's away game

29 February 2024

Assistant manager Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts as he previews Exeter City's trip to Peterborough United on Saturday.

City head to Cambridgeshire looking to go one better than last weekend, when they drew 1-1 with Fleetwood Town at SJP, while Peterborough hope to follow on from their 1-0 derby day victory over Cambridge having made the EFL Trophy Final just a few days prior.

The Grecians were 2-1 winners over the Posh just three and a half weeks ago but Nicho expects an entirely different game than the one that saw United go down to ten before City bounced back to win.

"We know how good a side Peterborough are and what good individual players they have and they are a good expansive footballing team," he said.

"This will be a completely different game as they will be keen to put one over on us, and are fighting for promotion so need the three points. They're at home so it will be an occasion for their fans, but we need to prepare right to be really really clear on what the tactical part of the game will be.

"We also need to be clear on how we do react if they do get on top of us, or if something goes against us - anything that can happen that can throw you."
