📝 Match Preview: Peterborough United (A)

All you need to know ahead of Saturday's match

28 February 2024

Exeter City kick-off March with a trip to face high-flying Peterborough United on Saturday at the Weston Homes Stadium.

The 3pm kick-off is the second meeting of the two teams within a month, after City picked up an impressive 2-1 win under the lights at SJP on February 6.

The Grecians will be aiming to return to winning ways after drawing with Fleetwood Town on Saturday and will face a tough test against a Posh side that sits in fifth place in EFL Sky Bet League One - the Grecians haven't won at Peterborough since 1988!

The Posh host City on the back of Saturday's 1-0 derby win over Cambridge United thanks to Ephron Mason-Clark’s strike.

Kevin Nicholson's Thoughts

Assistant manager Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts ahead of City's trip to face Peterborough.

"We know how good a side Peterborough are and what good individual players they have and they are a good expansive footballing team," he said.

"This will be a completely different game as they will be keen to put one over on us, and are fighting for promotion so need the three points. They're at home so it will be an occasion for their fans, but we need to prepare right to be really really clear on what the tactical part of the game will be.

"We also need to be clear on how we do react if they do get on top of us, or if something goes against us - anything that can happen that can throw you."
