💬 Millenic Alli on signing for City

30 January 2024

City's newest signing, Millenic Alli has given his first interview following his signing from National League side FC Halifax Town.

The two-and-a-half year deal sees Alli committed to the club until the end of the 2025/26 season, with City being the Irishman's first foray into the Football League, which is a challenge that excites him.

"It feels fantastic to be here, I've been waiting a long time as it's been a good few days to get this done," Alli said.

"It's good to know the manager believes in me and play under someone who has the faith in me. I'm really looking forward to the challenge of the step up to the league, and showing everyone what I can do. League One has always been a tough league but I'll be trying my best and working hard."

Halifax Town have a record of producing players who head into the EFL, with Jamie Vardy and Lee Gregory amongst the names who have gone onto have successful careers away from the Shay, and Alli hopes to add his name to the list.

"Halifax is a great club and they do well to improve players and give you lots of minutes, and it just goes to show.

"Having spoke to the manager, we have the same plan and I am looking forward to making magical things happen."
