💬 Ben Purrington on returning to his home city

Left-back is Caldwell's second January signing

New signing Ben Purrington is delighted to be back in his home city once again, as he pulls on the red and white shirt for the very first time since watching his boyhood club from the Big Bank.

Though his youthful days playing were spent in the green of Plymouth Argyle, the 27-year-old could not be happier to be playing for the side his family and many of his friends support, after joining on an 18-month contract from Scottish side Ross County.

"It's nice to get it finally done after being in the pipeline for a week or so, and after an 11-hour drive it's nice to finally be here. I'm back home," Ben said.

"Being from the area, I was born and lived in Exwick and I could hear SJP from my garden, it's really nice to be back and now I am looking forward to kicking on and helping the team out.

"It's never easy leaving a club, especially with a good manager I worked with in the past who was keen to keep me, but t. I had talks in the past that never worked out but this time it all aligned perfectly.

"I had a few calls with the manager and got the opportunity to see the training ground, and the way the club like to play, I feel well suited. Everyone seems great and the lads really look like they are on it - I'm excited to really integrate myself into the group."
