Ben Purrington played the full 90 minutes as City kept a clean sheet whilst being unable to break down the Cambridge defence, despite having the better of the chances, resulting in a 0-0 draw.

Purrington played the full 90 minutes, making his home debut for Exeter City. Purrington and his defensive companions kept a clean sheet and Ben even had the opportunity to put City ahead at the death, stopped by an impressive save from the Cambridge keeper.

Ben said, "I thought we played well, especially in a lot of spells throughout the game. Obviously it's nice to keep the clean sheet, that's what you pride yourself on as a defender."

Ben saw more personal opportunities as the game drew out, "the first half was more about coming inside but I'd say a big trait of mine of the past years is getting in at the back post and attacking the ball. I fancy myself in the air at the back post and trying to nick a few goals."

"Obviously when you're drawing a game, you try and creep into that area and try to create a few chances that way. When Dion came on, he was a massive threat, beating his fullback everytime and getting his crosses in."
