Exeter City Women have added to their squad with the welcome return of Georgie-Marie Barbour-Gresham.
Progressing through the Exeter City Community Trust Girls Development Centre, Barbour-Gresham stands as one of the most talented female players developed at Exeter City. The powerful midfielder, who is equally composed in defence, scored thirteen times from nineteen games in her debut season, helping City to the South West Premier Title in 2018.
Her impressive performances led to a call up for the England Colleges Under 19 side, Barbour-Gresham Captaining the side throughout their WSL Academy Cup. The midfielder would play fourteen times for City in tier four, adding a further six goals before departing for University.
Whilst in education, Barbour-Gresham played at the heart of a title winning Cheltenham Town side, before spells at The New Saints in Wales and more recently Forest Green Rovers. She has also been a prominent player in Hartpury University's Trophy winning Futsal team.
City Joint Manager Aaron Wakley is delighted to welcome the former Young Player of the Year back to Devon. “Georgie is a player we know well and have always enjoyed working the with. Myself and Abs worked with her through her time with City and Exeter College and we know just how much potential she has.”
A player who has won the division City currently play in, Wakley is confident Barbour-Gresham can impact the squad. “Georgie will come into a positive environment and we know the qualities she has, I think the timing is right for her to come back to Exeter and be a focal point of what we want to achieve over the coming years.”
Barbour-Gresham will be available for the weekend's visit to Billericay Town and will wear number 14.
