Assistant manager Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts as the Grecians prepare to take on Carlisle United at SJP on Saturday.
It's a big game in the context of the league table, given both sides' league position, but Nicho was keen not to overstate the importance of the fixture.
"I think every game is must win, but I don't like the term, it's dramatic and build excitements and anticipation for the fans, but for us it's the next game and therefore the most important," Nicho said.
"We speak behind the scenes and we're very aware of how frustrating it is that we sit here every Thursday and have to be quite guarded in what we say - but every team we play watches these so we can't just sit here and announce that everyone is going to fully fit or not.
"We;'re not going to say things outright. When it comes to must win games, it really is the just the next one. We're not bothered about games in April, not Blackpool.
"We just have to keep our eyes on the prize and that is the next game."
