Reece Cole scored City's first as the Grecians enjoyed a hard-earned three points at home in a 2-1 win against Carlisle.
Cole blasted City's first goal in from the edge of the box, putting the Grecians one up. City then got another through Sonny Cox before conceding late on and holding on through nine added minutes.
"It's three points and that's the main thing. We were comfortable in the way we were playing and in the way we set up, with the box in midfield."
On debutant, Luke Harris' performance, "credit to Luke, coming in, he's only trained a couple day with us but he's a great player and I think he'll be great for us for the rest of the season."
On his goal, Reece said, "I could hear the gaffer screaming, Reece get in the box, my legs were gone at that point, and luckily I've done well to bury it."
