Fresh from the announcement of his new contract, Dan Green has spoken to the media about why he's re-signed and his excitement ahead of the 2026/27 season.
With Matt Taylor returning as Grecians Manager and preparations for the 2026/27 season now under way, Green will continue his work alongside Matt as assistant manager with Kevin Nicholson as City look ahead to the new Sky Bet League Two season.
"I'm incredibly excited," Dan said, reacting to the news becoming public, "I'm always very proud to represent this football club in any role, in any position, and really looking forward to what the future holds within the club.
"I have a real sense of pride, I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to represent a city that I've grown up in, a city that I can now say my son's going to grow up in, so it means a lot to me, and I feel a real responsibility to make sure this football club really maximises its potential."
Speaking about continuing to work alongside Matt Taylor, Dan explained how significant a factor that was in committing his future to Exeter City.
"I've spent a huge amount of my career with Matt, I've got a huge amount of trust in him, I know the way that he works, the values he has as a person, and the way that he will put everything into this football club in terms of developing players, developing the club as a whole, and in terms of trying to get us back into winning ways on the pitch."
