Exeter City got their season underway with a 2-0 victory over Accrington Stanley at St James Park.
Ed James spoke following City's win: "Yeah, I'm really pleased. It felt like a long time since we've had that winning feeling as a group so to get it on our first game back at home is a brilliant feeling at the minute."
City captain Jack Fitzwater opened the scoring inside two minutes, with Ed reacting to his heroic effort: "I'm not sure he meant it, maybe he did, I'm not sure. But no, a really good start and yeah, it came from a long throw which we've tried using at the start of the season and so yeah, to get a goal from a set piece we are absolutely buzzing. It was some finish."
The Grecians now look ahead to York City next weekend, with Ed previewing the next week of training: "Yeah, we've just got to take the momentum from today's game. It's going to be another long journey up to York, but you know we're used to that as a team."
