Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts after City suffered a 1-0 defeat on Doncaster Rovers on the opening day of the season.
Luke Molyneux's 88th minute penalty decided the contest when the game was heading towards a goalless draw, with City hitting the crossbar in the first half.
"It is always disappointing to lose, but we have to look at ourselves and we have to look at our performance. We could have done better after starting the game really well," he said.
"We didn't do that enough and then we invited pressure in the second half, and then a poor decision costs us at the end.
"It's poor because I went on a two hour Zoom call for us to be told the new rules, which are that handballs need to be deliberate, clear and obvious and it just wasn't. It wasn't unnatural."
