Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts ahead of tomorrow's Vertu Trophy match against Cardiff City.
City kick off their Trophy campaign against the Bluebirds before going on to face Arsenal under-21s and Newport County in Southern Group A.
Following Saturday's defeat against Port Vale, Gary stated how pleased he was with the players' reaction in training. "It was fantastic, we had a good open and honest chat this morning, not much in terms of clips," said Gary.
"More about the feeling and how they respond to setbacks, how good we can be and building each other up to that level and demanding more from each other.
"The players went out and trained and were bang at it, enthusiastic, wanted to get on the ball and show everyone we wanted to do something about this."
The Vertu Trophy often offers teams a chance to rotate their starting eleven, however Gary explained that should Cardiff decide to do that, it will make no difference to the quality City will face.
"All teams approach it slightly different, so we'll wait for their teamsheet. We know they're a very good team and they've had a good start to the season. We know they're strong in their squad, even if they rotate and change some things they have a very good squad right throughout."
