Gary Caldwell on Torquay United and Swansea City double header

Gary pre Torquay and Swansea

Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has given his preview as City prepare for the double game weekend of Torquay United at Plainmoor on Friday night and Swansea City at home on Saturday afternoon for Pierce Sweeney's testimonial.

Gary plans to make the use of two squads again this weekend after last weekend's matches against Aston Villa U21 and FC United. "It'll be the same," said Gary. "We'll try and get ninety minutes again and use as many players as we can. I think that's important that the players that have been training haven't picked up any niggles.

"You can really see how how much fitter they are and and how ready they are for those ninety minutes. Other players that are either coming back like Sweenz, or have missed a day here and there, will be getting less minutes.

"But then we still have the opportunity the following week on Wednesday to play an in house 11 vs 11, which have worked extremely well throughout pre-season. We've managed to play them at a greater intensity than any game we've played."

"Saturday is the finale of pre-season at SJP for Sweenz testimonial against Swansea City. We've had some really competitive games at SJP to cap off pre-seasons in recent years, and this one will be no different against quality opposition.

"We wanted to get as good an opposition as as we could. Swansea will be great opposition, a Championship team, you know, a team that's played in the Premier League very recently.
