Gary Caldwell on Wigan Athletic draw (H)

GC on Wigan draw

Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has given his reaction to the Grecians 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic at SJP.

Jayden Wareham's strike made it four matches unbeaten and City had a number of chances to turn a point into three.

Speaking after the match, Gary said: "I thought we were outstanding in the second half, and probably should have gone 2-1 up. We played far too slow at the start and we knew they were going to sit in.

"We gifted them far too many chances and the goal is nowhere near good enough and we then give ourselves a mountain to climb against a side that parked the bus really and had everyone behind the ball.

For us to come out second half and stick to our principals and play the way we wanted to and show bravery and courage and quality was fantastic. I thought the goal was exceptional."
