Defender Jack Fitzwater has given his thoughts ahead the Grecians’ trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday in what is the League One season opener for both sides.
After a busy pre-season, which saw Fitzwater feature in several matches, the defender is now ready for competitive action in what will be a tough fixture against the newly promoted side.
“We have had a really good pre-season with six weeks of hard graft and everyone is ready now for the real stuff to start. It’s a big test we’re looking forward to."
“The win against Swansea gave us a lot of confidence and it gave us a lot to work on going into this weekend’s game. We have done a lot, and I personally have played two 45s and two 90s, and the intensity has been really high.
“Everyone is just really raring to go, and we can’t wait to see all the supporters again on the road. They were incredible away last season.”
