Kevin McDonald reflects on a frustrating afternoon for the Grecians away to Blackpool in Sky Bet League One.
Disappointment was the overriding emotion for McDonald, who spoke after the game; "From start to finish really we had small parts of the game, but yeah disappointment. It was a real opportunity on what was a lovely pitch to maybe play a little bit more than we did, but no it's disappointing and an unacceptable result really."
McDonald pointed out the pattern that soon emerged in the first half that eventually led to the visitors goal, "I'd like to think everybody can see where they gave us problems. We had three channel balls in the first half in quick succession where we didn't deal with them, so we'll look back at that and see where we can improve, but that was their game and they executed it well."
The Grecians are back in action on Monday where they will host Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity that Kevin is looking forward to. "Monday is the focus, we need to act fast. There will be boys in recovery tomorrow, there will be boys training for the game on Monday, and again there's competition for places. It's about showing it on the pitch and we need to do that."
