Kevin Nicholson reacts to Newport County win (A)

Kev post Newport

Exeter City assistant manager Kevin Nicholson has given his assessment on City's 1-0 win over Newport County at Rodney Parade.

In a game played in treacherous conditions in South Wales, it was a moment of magic from Ed Turns that earned City the three points and qualification to the knockout stage of the Vertu Trophy.

Speaking after the win Kev said: "It was a professional performance with moments of top quality play.

"We need to be more ruthless and I'd like us to score more goals when we are on top but there are not too many negatives in the performance. I think in the second half we created some really good one touch football to carve through them it's just that last little bit in what were really difficult conditions."
