Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has given his assessment as the Grecians fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Truro City in a pre-season friendly at the Truro City Stadium.
Tyler Harvey's penalty in the second half would ultimately settle the tie. Speaking after full-time, Matt said: "I was pretty pleased with the structure of the first half. We dominated possession, dominated the ball, but we didn't work their opposition box and the opposition goalkeeper and backline close to their goal often enough.
"We looked a good team from box-to-box. But it's all about scoring goals and certainly threatening the goal, and we didn't quite do that in that first half. Although I could say I was quite pleased with the structure. Second half we started really poorly and as the second half went on we looked so weak, fragile, soft and came out second best too often.
"That's partly personal. It's partly age related. It's partly where some of them are in terms of their games. But I thought Truro improved in the second half and they put some more experience and physicality on the pitch, and it really showed in terms of our struggles."
