Exeter City manager Matt Taylor was delighted with the spirit shown by his side in their 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup at the Accu Stadium.
A week on from a cruel defeat at the hands of Salford City, Matt was pleased to see his side produce another top class performance against difficult opposition: "I thought we were good last week against the top League Two team, now we've come here against a top League One team and been excellent once more."
"When the game stared the lads down in the 70-75 minute mark, they looked at each other, looked across to me, probably looked at the fans that were involved today and thought: I'm gonna have a little bit, and they went and we absolutely went and we smelt blood."
Matt reflected on the committed supporters that journeyed North to support their team today: "We've all played a part in that moment, but for the fans have travelled here today and will have seen that three sides of this stadium were empty; I don't know what's happened to football, or to the FA Cup for it not to be valued like it used to be, it's such a shame. But our fans valued it, we valued it today and hopefully now we look forward to what's next in this competition because we deserve what's coming."
