Exeter City Manager Matt Taylor has given his preview as City's pre-season schedule continues at pace with our annual trip to face Weston-super-Mare AFC on Saturday.
When asked what Matt would be looking to get out of the match, he said: "It will be very similar to the first few games of pre-season in terms of there's a fitness aspect where you're looking at minutes and longevity on the pitch then, but then there's a more fine tuned aspect where we're looking at starting 11, looking at partnerships, we're looking at combinations, we're looking at players who can provide us with what we need when the season starts be it at Plymouth or Grimsby.
"I expect us to be slightly stronger from the start and probably some more familiar faces on the pitch from the offset. But then there's new signings to, to to get into that as well. And we have got a few problems in terms of a few bodies which we've picked up the last couple of days.
"But I hope and expect them to be in a playing capacity come the weekend, and then it'll be a case of moving the match minutes closer and closer to that 90 minute mark that a couple of players did really well to get through at the weekend. I'm sure a few more will do that this weekend, but it's always a good test against a well organised team in Weston.
"It's always a good place to go. Our fans always travel well and it's a nice pitch at the Optima Stadium. We're always well looked after there, we hope it's a short journey because we know how some of these journeys at the end can unfold."
