Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has given his preview ahead of Saturday's long trip to face Grimsby Town in EFL Sky Bet League Two.
The Grecians will be looking to start a new league campaign positively as they make the mammoth 606 mile round trip to Blundell Park.
Speaking about player fitness ahead of the trip, Matt said: "We are looking good. Doyler got another 45 minutes. So he had the 30 minutes against Bristol City and then half a game on Monday.
"We'll keep assessing him on a daily basis. There's hope that he might be able to play a little bit longer this weekend. But we're constantly seeing how he reacts, not just his ankle, but his body reacts. He's been out for such a long period of time. Ethan's obviously suspended after Monday. We've got some bumps and bruises - that is probably the best way for me to describe the physical attributes or the physical makeup of the squad right now. But nothing too major."
City make the long trip to face a Grimsby side that are tipped to do well this season and are always strong at Blundell Park.
"It'll be tougher than Plymouth, said Matt. "You know that was a League One opposition with aspirations to get out of League One. So yeah it's a tough game and it's going to be a challenge - and you had the journey into that.
"We had the Monday night leading into the recovery time - and we have no excuses. Come 5pm on Saturday we will either be good enough or we won't be. We'll have learned a lot more regardless of the result. But yeah, I think all pundits and the betting patterns are expecting Grimsby to be up there this season.
"The Manager has been there for a period of time now has built such a strong squad. They've added to it. There's a few familiar faces in there and they've been consistent and very successful in pre-season. So yeah, we know what a tough test it will be in terms of where Grimsby at, but we're still looking for what we're going to be this season in terms of the league standing in the league reckoning, and come 5pm we'll have a better idea."
