Exeter City manager Matt Taylor was delighted following his side's 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town; the Grecian's first win on the road since January.
City continued their fine defensive display, a platform that Matt was pleased the team built off of; "We had to dig deep at times today, and there was the block in the first half and Jack's incredible save in the second half. We defended our box like our lives depended on it, and we still had a moment of quality from a defensive situation to break at the other end. And for Sonny to score that goal with what he's been through, not just last week, but the last couple of months I was delighted."
Sonny's goal is something Matt referred to as a hugely positive moment for the young striker: "Sometimes you get a feeling that something special might happen to someone who deserves it, but nothing's a given in football. Let's be honest, I didn't envisage it was going to come from a defensive corner, but suddenly marking a man inside our six yard box and for him to sprint the length of the pitch alongside Ethan and Birchy and most of the team, eah, that was a special moment."
