In July last year we launched a campaign to raise funds for a Recovery Room at the Cliff Hill Training Ground with a target of raising half of the £50,000 cost of the unit, which was reached this May, thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
The Recovery Room, which was due to include three ice baths, shower, traditional sauna and infrared sauna, is designed to provide a space for players to recuperate after injury and recover after matches, thus reducing the risk of further injuries.
In December, the club ordered the equipment and paid a 50% deposit. The second instalment was agreed to be paid upon confirmation of a delivery date, which was expected to be in March. Despite ongoing contact, the company has not confirmed the delivery date on two occasions.
The club is now in negotiations with the company regarding recovery of the deposit or the provision of the goods agreed and will update as soon as a suitable option has been agreed.
Thank you again to everybody who contributed, whether through our Grecian Groups, as individuals, through participating in fundraising events, or anonymously via the website. Your support is invaluable to us, and we will do all we can to pursue a positive outcome from this.
