Exeter City midfielder Reece Cole has given an honest assessment as the Grecians fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Grimsby Town on the League's opening day.
Speaking after full-time, Reece said: "The main emotion is disappointment. To concede a set piece goal - I hold my hands up. It was my man that scored, so that's on me. It wasn't good enough. But ultimately very, very disappointed in the way the game's gone.
"I felt like we had enough chances in the game to at least score. It's disappointed going behind at the break. We were in the game in the second half and we had a couple of chances.
"Too many times we get into good positions and we rush the opportunity or turn down a positive attacking moment and go backwards. So, yeah, a little bit of frustration, but, there were signs there that we were getting into the right spaces. It was just the decision making of what we were going to do next with the ball, whether we were going to attack at speed or, or slow it down and bring others into play and, and try and pull them out of their, their shape, which we didn't manage to do."
