Exeter City’s latest signing Vincent Harper has expressed his delight at returning to the club which gave him his first taste of EFL football.
Vinnie, who joined the Grecians back in the summer of 2023, spent a productive two years in Devon before departing and joining fellow League Two side Walsall – he makes his return on a season-long loan.
Speaking after putting pen-to-paper, Vinnie said: “I'm buzzing to be back. It's a place where I felt at home. And when the opportunity came up to come back, it was a definite yes and I couldn't say no to coming back here.
“I made so many good friendships and built a good relationship here. I always felt at home, and this club gave me the opportunity to be in an EFL environment, which is something I've always wanted. But ultimately, I've always felt the love from the fans and just felt at home here, so it was a no brainer.”
Speaking on his time at Walsall, Vinnie added: “I had a great time there. I met some great people and really enjoyed my time there. The only thing I wish was probably had a bit more game time and really showed what I could do there, but with this opportunity, I gave a lot to prove and that's what I'm going to do.
“League Two is a good standard that is close to League One. Every week was a challenge, which is good. I feel that I've matured as a player and as a person and I'm looking forward to sharing what I can do on and off the pitch.”
